I’m AJ. I am extremely lucky to join you on Y101 weekdays from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM because let’s face it … that’s the best time of the day! That’s the time of the day when you get out of work … when your plans for the night get going … when, maybe on a bad day, you might feel like the day has beat you up and here I am to make you smile. You can count on me to play your favorite song or give you a prize to brighten your day.
My love for radio began at a young age calling into radio stations requesting songs and asking how “it” worked.   As soon as I could drive I got my first job in the biz right here at this very station.  Now, I bring with me on the air a unique sense of the Valley along with my own unique traits that I’ve picked up throughout the years.
Born and raised in the Central Valley and having lived here all my life, I know what it’s like to have to wait forever by the railroad tracks at Shaw and Golden State.  I know the beauty of Christmas Tree Lane…I like to hit up the Cherry Auction on Saturday for a shopping experience like no other…I know it’s normal to expect my windows to be washed (or lack thereof) if I drive to a particular part of town and I can’t stand the ferocious summers we can have.  I am a Dad to 3 beautiful and perfect kids and have a wonderful wife.
I honestly dig all of the songs we play.  What I enjoy the most is the variety… Like, I could be getting down to a laid back chill song, then the next will be a cool dance track, after that might be a funky pop rock type of song… it’s always forward moving.  I don’t like to stop.  I don’t like the same type over and over because then I feel like I’m missing out on the rest of the best!
