Free Foreclosure Counseling Seminars
Every Tuesday
Self-Help Enterprises, a 45 year old non-profit organization dedicated to improving the living situations of low income persons, is now offering free foreclosure
counseling seminars to everyone (not just low income) who is at-risk of losing their home to foreclosure. All that is required is the property must be located in Kern, Kings, or
Tulare county. Seminars are held each Tuesday at Self-Help, 8445 W. Elowin Ct., Visalia. Reservations are required and can be made by calling our foreclosure hotline at (888) 412-0828.
The seminars are put on by a real estate attorney who is also a real estate professor and licensed broker. One-on-one counseling sessions are available in both English and Spanish.
Self-Help Enterprises' goal is to help as many people as possible in the tri-county area retain ownership of their homes. Counselors will analyze each homeowner's financial situation
and contact their lender to attempt a work-out arrangement that is financially affordable for the homeowner. If modifying a loan is not feasible, counselors may offer advice and/or
assistance with short sales, deeds in lieu, bankruptcy, and credit counseling.
